'Domina Shopping' and 'MyFitness' to develop a new sports club with a unique SPA zone; investment to exceed EUR 2 million

  • 2025-04-22

With the goal of making fitness activities more accessible to a wider audience, shopping centre Domina Shopping has partnered with its long-term tenant – the leading fitness club chain in the Baltics, MyFitness – to create a new, twice-as-large, and conceptually more versatile sports club. The new club, which will feature the only SPA zone within the MyFitness network in Latvia, is set to open its doors at Domina Shopping this autumn. The total planned investment from both partners will exceed EUR 2 million.

Dina Bunce, Director of Domina Shopping, explains: “Wellness and fitness services play an increasingly vital role in the life of modern shopping centres. We are actively developing this segment to offer our visitors a broader and higher-quality range of services that inspire an active lifestyle. Our collaboration with MyFitness marks an important step in this direction and is a key part of our broader 2025 development strategy, which will bring new energy to Domina Shopping’s future growth.”

Nearly 60% Larger Space and Improved Accessibility

The new MyFitness Domina club will be located just a few minutes’ walk from the main entrance (C) of the shopping centre, in the direction of the Maxima XXX hypermarket. Covering nearly 2,300 square metres, the new space will be 58% larger than the current MyFitness club at Domina Shopping. The expanded area will significantly increase capacity and allow for a broader range of workouts, classes, and recovery options.

State-of-the-art equipment, varied offerings and a unique SPA experience

One of the key highlights and value additions of the new MyFitness Domina club will be its specially designed SPA zone – the only one in the entire MyFitness network in Latvia. Visitors will be able to unwind in two different types of saunas and boost their wellbeing in a cold plunge pool – the ideal combination for physical recovery and mental relaxation after workouts.

The club will also feature a spacious gym equipped with world-renowned Technogym training machines. Several group workout studios will be created, alongside specialised zones such as a Functional Training Zone, CrossTraining Zone, Free Weights Zone, the popular Booty Zone, and a dedicated Recovery Zone. Additionally, the club will include a MyFitness smoothie bar, solarium, and a free drinking water refill station.

Inna Alne, Country Manager of MyFitness Latvia, adds: “In today’s society, physical activity is becoming more and more important – it benefits both physical and emotional wellbeing. Yet, according to World Health Organization data, only around 34% of people in Latvia engage in physical or sports activities at least once a week. As the leading fitness club network in the Baltics, we feel a strong responsibility to improve these statistics by creating environments that inspire movement and daily self-care. Globally, the fitness industry is increasingly embracing wellness and wellbeing approaches – people are looking not only for physical exercise, but also for opportunities to recover, reduce stress, and maintain a healthy mind-body balance. That’s why the new MyFitness Domina club is designed as a fully holistic wellness experience. In addition to a modern gym, it will include a SPA zone and a special Recovery Zone equipped with world-class massage technologies and gear to help the body recover after training. We stand for a high-quality life – now and in the long run.”
